Activities may book up quickly and reservations are required (first-come, first-served). Sign-ups open at the conclusion of the Monday Orientation at approx. 10:30AM. If you cannot be there in person, you may call us at (603)-745-9900 (ext. 0 from in-room) and ask for the Activities Department (ext. 470 from in-room), or you may sign up in the Main Lobby any time after that (again, limited space - first-come, first-served).

9:00AM - SCENIC BUS TOUR: WATERFALLS, VIEWS, AND POETS: Join us for a relaxing morning cruise to some of the most scenic and historic spots of the region. This tour includes stops at the home of famed poet Robert Frost where we can explore his property (we will not be able to go inside of his home this time of the year), one of the nicest views in the state at Sunset Hill Road, and a short walk through the must-see waterfalls at the Basin. An adventurous spirit is preferred as we'll be on and off of the bus for multiple photo opportunities and short walks. Approx. 3-hour tour. Appropriate outerwear recommended. $10 per person.

1:30PM - GUIDED HIKE TO MT. AGASSIZ: Mt. Agassiz is a former tourist attraction that went defunct in the 1960s, but still provides a stunning view of Franconia Notch as we get a peek into a golden age long past. The view is a completely different perspective of Franconia Notch than you have likely ever seen before. This guided hike is 1.5-miles (round-trip) on an old paved road; however, the road is not graded, climbs steadily uphill, and is very steep in places. Appropriate outerwear recommended. Minimum of 4 participants required. $20 per person.

9:15AM - PRIVATE TOUR OF THE ROCKS ESTATE: Join us for an exclusive 2-hour tour of this historic property guided by a professional naturalist, who is well-versed in the natural history of northern New Hampshire and enthusiastic about the trove of wildlife treasures found around this beautiful 1,400-acre property. Tour topics focus on wildlife, plants, history, maple syrup processing, and more! Tour begins with a multimedia slideshow presentation of NH Wildlife in the historic Carriage Barn, followed by a interpretive nature walk of the property to see wildlife habitat and look for recent signs of wildlife (approx. 1-mile of walking is required). The guide will be with us the entire time for questions and to point things out along the way. Must sign up by noon on Wednesday (8 participants required by Wednesday at noon or this tour may be cancelled). Last-minute no-shows or cancellations will be charged in full. $25 per person.

1:30PM - GUIDED HIKE TO BRIDESMAID FALLS: This once popular destination has been almost completely forgotten to time. Bridesmaid Falls was once the subject of many postcards and paintings, but the long-lost waterfall no longer appears on any hiking maps. This exclusive guided hike is really the only way to see one of the hidden secrets of the region. The hike is generally considered easy/moderate with very little elevation change (mostly flat-ish) for the majority of the hike; however, a short but very steep descent is required to access the waterfall, so a certain level of agility is required to complete the hike. The hike is approx. 1-mile (round-trip). Appropriate outerwear recommended. Minimum of 4 participants required. $20 per person.

7:00PM - OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN PRESENTATION (free event): Join the famed David Nielsen for a 1-hour presentation about his experience as the official caretaker of the Old Man of the Mountain. He'll discuss his family's legacy preserving the great stone face, present memorabilia of the Old Man, & answer questions from the audience. This is a unique experience not to be missed. 8:30PM - MOVIE NIGHT - ARTHUR THE KING (free event): Over the course of 10 days and 435 miles, an unbreakable bond is forged between pro adventure racer (Mark Wahlberg) and a scrappy street dog companion dubbed Arthur. 9:30AM - 21ST ANNIVERSARY OF THE OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN'S COLLAPSE (free event): It was May 3rd, 2003 that we discovered the state icon was gone forever. On this day of remembrance, we'll head to the Old Man Historic Site for a meet/greet/photo opportunity with David Nielsen (the Last Caretaker of the Old Man of the Mountain). Limited to 12 passengers on our bus, but you may follow in your own vehicle - sign up in advance if possible.

1:00PM - GUIDED HIKE TO KINSMAN FALLS: Firstly, some may consider this 1-mile (round-trip) hike strenuous. You will encounter very steep pitches, as well as possible mud. All that said, you will be greeted by a seemingly endless series of waterfalls, and some of the most picturesque scenery NH has to offer. Appropriate outerwear and footwear recommended. Minimum of 4 participants required. $10 per person.

6:00PM - UFO BUS TOUR: One of the most famous UFO abduction stories in history happened around the corner from Pollard Brook Resort. In 1961, Betty & Barney Hill claim to have been abducted by aliens and later returned to their car on the side of the road nearby. We will head out in the bus to re-trace their route on that fateful night. We'll make a few stops including a scenic view in Franconia Notch where they initially claim to make first contact, the official state historic marker that commemorates the spot they claim to have been abducted, a local mural of the alien (one of the best photo opportunities around!), and we'll also be able to shop for some commemorative merchandise from this incident. All along the way, we'll keep our eyes to the sky! Minimum of 6 participants required. $5 per person.
